Hot summer festivals can be a bear for both the crowds and the bands,

but for their early evening set at the Virgin Festival, Slash and crew had a plan. “By the time we got to the stage, it seemed like everybody was

already burned out,” he says. “We felt like we needed to really pick it up,

for our own sake and for the sake of the bands playing after us. We just left our egos at the door, and I think we pulled it off.”
