That bag does not match that drummer: Interpol
I loved the story about Interpol
[“The Ties That Bind,” August].
They’re my favorite band, and I was very intrigued by the insight into the subtle changes fans are seeing in them. I’m a loyal reader, and I love Spin all the more when Spin loves Interpol. I hope everyone embraces Our Love to Admire, as it’s one of the best albums of the year.

few years [Reviews, August]. I’m glad the band had the courage to stick to their convictions and make a piece of music they truly believe in, and their vision should be commended. One piece of advice, though: Never mention Against Me! and Nickelback in the same review ever again. I almost choked on my vegetarian bratwurst.

MATCH!
I’m not a huge fan of Interpol, and though the feature was well written, it only made me dislike the band more. It sounds like Interpol are only in the music business for fame and fortune, and not for the experience. Friendship is a key component in a band’s relationship—a crowd can feel that energy. When band members are not interacting with one another onstage, it makes for a dull and boring show. Interpol should either start enjoying themselves or just call it quits.

Leaky Styley Your story about how albums end up being released before their time [“Days of the Leak,” August] was truly enlightening. The only people really on the losing end when an album leaks are the outdated big-time record-label executives. Any band in its right mind makes all its money off of touring, merchandise, and licensing, not album sales. Talentless suits have been making money on the backs of brilliant people for decades. Isn’t it about time they got their comeuppance?

For Against Me! As far as I’m concerned, Against Me! is the only band that matters, and Spin should be commended for being one of the only music magazines to pay attention to the group over the past
