The gold medal hanging around Adrock’s neck is a trophy I got for playing in a softball league with him this summer. There’s an engraving on the back, SUMMER OF 2006: LET’S DO THIS!” 2TOP HAT “I tried it on one night when I was out in London, and Lily Allen said I looked like a twat. I never wore it again.” 3JUKEBOX “I bought this on an installment plan about ten years ago. It was the first nice thing I ever bought myself. I just loved the idea of having this at parties—you can come over and play any song you want. Well, I guess you can do that with an iPod, but this is cooler.” 4RUBBER PIG “I had a birthday party at a bar in September, and some stranger handed me this pig. I have no idea why. My dog seems to love it.” 5BIRDCAGE “I stayed at a hotel in New Orleans that looked like a bordello, with birdcages everywhere. When I moved into this apartment, I thought, ‘We need a birdcage!’ because I like crazy-old-lady things.” 6FENDER STRATOCASTER “I played this on all of my record [Version]. I obviously have an eye for German bears; it’s something to fall back on.” 8STEVIE WONDER’S LIGHT MY FIRE “This was one of the inspirations for my album. It’s a weird U.K. compilation with covers of Bob Dylan, the Doors, and others. I like taking great melodies from quote-unquote white music and merging them with R&B arrangements.” 9POLISH MOVIE POSTER “Woody Allen is my favorite director. My girlfriend always teases me that I’m just like Zelig, because I’ll adapt to every scenario. Like, when I go back to London, my English accent comes out really strongly. I guess it’s a bad thing.” 10ANTIQUE DOLL “Another thing I saw at a flea market; it’s so freaky, but not scary in a Marilyn Manson way. There’s something kind of cute and endearing about it. It’s just missing a scalp.”
