PROMOTION
Las Vegas and New Orleans
October 26– 28, 2007
At Vegas’ annual Vegoose Festival, Citi set up their Dollhouse Salon and Costume Shoppe
and filled it with makeup artists, stylists, costumes, and a photo booth. On the other side of the
country in New Orleans, Citi settled into the Voodoo Music Experience. Not only did people get to snap
their pics at the Rockstar Photo Booth powered by Citi and SPIN, but they got to hang out at the Citi
Bingo! Parlour tent, where limber acrobats and Ghostland Observatory performed.
Citi VIPs were also given their own Citi LOA Lounge Cabana where they could
take a break from the 150,000-strong crowd.

The weekend featured performances by Rage Against the Machine,
Queens of the Stone Age, Battles, Gogol Bordello, Muse, the Shins, Fall Out Boy, M.I.A.,

Though never at a loss for words, Vontz finds the Daft Punk live experience difficult to describe. “Hearing about it is like seeing pictures from Burning Man,” he says. “They can be dismissed as the rantings of a zealot.” Vontz, 32, is online at andrewvontz.com. Most overhyped thing in 2007: “Skintight jeans. Just buy tights and get it over with, guys.”

Daft Punk (page 60)
> Clarke says he knows why people are
so drawn to this month’s cover stars:
“Kanye West is more than hip-hop, and
Daft Punk are more than dance music.
They have many strings in their bows.”
The 34-year-old Londoner’s work can
also be found in Arena and the U.K.
Esquire. Goal for 2008: “To improve my
figure-skating technique.”
Mary Rozzi Photographer, Feist (page 70) < Rozzi calls Feist’s “stunning blue eyes” one of the keys to the Canadian chanteuse’s recent success. Splitting time between New York and Paris, Rozzi also shoots for the Japanese and German editions of Vogue, and both the British and French Elle. Favorite song of 2007: “Feist’s ‘Past in Present.’ She sums it all up in three little words.”
Phoebe Reilly Writer, Feist (page 70) < While trailing the year’s Breakout Artist, Spin’s research editor witnessed a stunning display of national pride. “Backstage at Saturday Night Live, Michael Cera talked intently to Feist about highways in Ontario,” she says. “She called it the most ‘Canadiatic’ conversation ever.” The 29-year-old Reilly lives in Brooklyn, New York. Favorite 2007 album: Bruce Springsteen’s Magic
