WHILE THRIVING AS A MUSIC MAGAZINE IN 2008 is certainly not without its
unique challenges, these challenges can also lead to exciting opportunities that stand
to revolutionize the way people look at Spin—even the way we look at Spin.
Launched in January as a collaboration between this magazine and MySpace, Spin
Digital ( myspace.com/spinmagazine) is a first-of-its-kind multimedia experience.
Feeding off the energy of Spin’s music enthusiasts and MySpace’s vast social network,
this unique digital edition offers readers a fully interactive experience and allows the

magazine to truly come to life. Not only can you read each issue in its entirety, you can

also click on text and pictures to hear or buy the music you’re reading about—even the

ads are interactive. In a February 7 story, the Los Angeles Times reported, “Viewers are
WLJKW DQG
spending an unusual amount of time with it,” and we think that’s awesome. Spin Digital
is a huge accomplishment, and it will only get bigger and better throughout the year.

We’ve also completely rebuilt SPIN.com to be just as groundbreaking—on-demand
video, enhanced multimedia capabilities, spanking-new daily features, an A-to-Z artist
database, and so much more can be found on the newly relaunched website.
