folkie Shirley Collins, nautical pursuits,

and…sheep. But maybe the niceties will

quiet the murmurs of unease regarding

his band. They canceled a run of shows

last fall, and the solo album’s release

has some fans worried that their favorite

chantey singers are done. Easy, says

Meloy. “There’s been some surmising,”

he says coyly, “but it’s all not true.”
