To celebrate the makeover of CBGB’s
punk rock haven into John Varvatos’ newest
concept store, music icons and rock notables
gathered to party at the newly renovated 315
Bowery. But the night wasn’t all rock’n’roll
glamour—proceeds went to
VH1’s Save the Music Foundation.

The night was filled with
performances by Ian Hunter, D Generation,
Perry Farrell, Alan Vega, Jesse Malin,
Clem Burke, Cheetah Chrome, C.J. Ramone,
Ronnie Spector, the Hold Steady, and
surprise guests Joan Jett, Slash,
and Tom Morello.

At this year’s Coachella festivities, SPIN set up an oasis in the luxurious
La Quinta villas and invited artists and bands to stop by for cocktails courtesy
of SK Y Y Vodka, interviews, and gifts from Onitsuka Tiger, Mavi, Vtech,
Quiksilver, BMI, L* Space, and Greyhound.
WHO
Dan Deacon, Black Kids, Black Lips, Shout Out Louds, Metric, Pendulum,
American Bang, the National, Islands, Cold War Kids, Architecture in Helsinki,
the Teenagers, and Junkie XL, were just a few of the artists that dropped by.
