After a fashion-full day at the MAgIC and PRoJECT trade shows in Las Vegas,
industry folks fled to New york, New york Hotel and Casino’s Rok Vegas, which was transformed
from rock ‘n’ roll club to a style hot spot, complete with street signs depicting famous London
fashion hubs like Kings Road and Carnaby Street.

Trendsetters and music lovers alike sipped complimentary Alchemia Polish Vodka
while L.A.-based DJ Franki Chan kept the beats going.

SPIN.com’s Book Club Presents Liner Notes

At SPIN.com’s first-ever Liner Notes event, which grew out of our online Book Club, Running With Scissors author
Augusten Burroughs and Tegan Quin, of Tegan and Sara, shared the stage to discuss music and literature, particularly
Burroughs’ newest memoir A Wolfat the Table and Quin’s song, “His Love,” written for the audiobook.

In addition to Quin and Burroughs, the sold-out show featured performances and readings by Circa Survive’s Colin
Frangicetto, Anberlin’s Stephen Christian, and solo artist Elizabeth Seward. The event, planned by SPIN.com Book Club
founder Emily Zemler and held at Housing Works Bookstore Café, raised over $8,000 in ticket, merchandise, and concession
sales for Housing Works, a nonprofit that helps homeless and low-income people suffering from HIV/AIDS find
