HOW DO YOU DEFINE STRENGTH? HOW DO YOU DEFINE YOURSELF?
Strength doesn’t come in one form. Strength is confidence, practice and patience. Strength is going onstage and performing for a crowd of strangers. Strength is never giving up. Strength is taking care of your family and community.
First Lieutenant Donald Dresch defines himself by his strengths. A proficient six-string bass player with a knack for economics, Lt. Dresch has brought his talents with him to each military station.
He is a father, a son, a musician, a Soldier, a husband, a bandmate and, since his stint at SUNY Sullivan County, a teacher.
He must lead not only in the classroom, but also on the field. He utilizes his knowl-
edge of technology, music and economics on and off the field, and that makes him a good Soldier, as well as a good citizen.
We sat down with Lt. Dresch to talk more about what strength means to him, both as a musician and a soldier in the Army Reserve. To see the full interview, log on to spin.com/goarmy.

inspiring, all the
places I’ve been.”
