I went to that restaurant Koi—which is supercelebrity-y, but I’m not really a celebrity, so it’s not a problem—and I was wearing these shoes and an orange tie. It must have been a very slow night, because there were, like, 30 paparazzi taking my picture. I was like, ‘You realize this picture’s gonna be worth about ten cents.’ ”

4ELVIS COSTELLO ALBUM “[Years ago] I was broke, so I sold some of my records, and the Italian pressing of My Aim Is True was my big guns. The tracks are the same, but it’s green vinyl. I relayed the story to my girlfriend, and she tracked down another copy for me.”

5PAINTING “Pete [Wentz] got me this for my
birthday one year. It’s David Bowie from The Man
Who Fell to Earth. I think it’s from the part where
he’s naked, which is a really unnerving scene.”

6FLASK “This I got for Pete, but he never wanted it. I’ve offered it to him like every holiday for the past year or two now, and he just says, ‘ Thanks,’ and leaves it here. I just thought a flask that says GET BENT was funny. I guess that’s what you say when you’re drunk.”

7HATS “What can I say—I have a bunch of
hats. This gray one a fan claimed they made for
me, and it’s one of my favorites, but I’m kind of
skeptical. It doesn’t look homemade.”

8COMIC BOOK “I have a collection of Batman comics. My favorite thing is the first appearance of the worst, shittiest villains, like Calendar Man, Killer Moth, the Calculator—he’s a man with a series of buttons on his chest, who can do different equations.”

box for GarageBand. It’s the crappiest one of
these you can get, but I record everything on it.
This is my third one—I’ve busted them pretty bad.”

[Pushes button, summoning forth a torrent of
