Given that Daltrey once publicly chided Babyshambles’ Pete Doherty for having a “death wish,” you could be forgiven for thinking the two weren’t likely to ever share a stage. You wouldn’t have been alone, either. “I can’t quite believe this is happening,” said a dumbstruck Doherty between songs during a recent charity gig with the Who vocalist. “I Don’t come to one of our shows if you don’t
want to get your shoes stepped on or catch an elbow every once in a while,” frontman Pharrell Williams has warned. Maybe all the roughhousing explains some of the foggy thinking he’s noticed after the gigs. “[Audiences] leave and go, ‘yo, where have I been for the last hour and a half? I can’t believe it’s over already!’”
