For a party celebrating the release of their new album, All Aboard Future, Brooklyn noise punks These Are Powers asked artists to decorate the space where the band would be playing. Uh-oh. “I got so nervous,” says singer Anna Barie. “I was worried that the crowd would break everything.” The result? “It went great. Although someone stole a switchblade and a Playboy from one of the art installations.” Um, here’s hoping there were two different thieves.

“I Don’t come to one of our shows if you don’t
want to get your shoes stepped on or catch an elbow every once in a while,” frontman Pharrell Williams has warned. Maybe all the roughhousing explains some of the foggy thinking he’s noticed after the gigs. “[Audiences] leave and go, ‘yo, where have I been for the last hour and a half? I can’t believe it’s over already!’”
