To You, Too
Thank you so much for putting U2 on the April cover! U2 is my all-time favorite band (I named my cat after Bono), and
I love everything they do. Steve Kandell’s “What Makes U2 Run?” was an awesome read. I couldn’t put down the story. I’m very pleased to see such great talent lasting so many years.

U2? Really? Out of all the excellent bands that are emerging right now, you pick these guys? I’ll take corporate bands for $600, Alex...

Stalking Points
I really enjoyed David Kushner’s report on cyberstalking [“Identity crisis” April]. I was expecting the article to be a bland account of a scene girl forgetting her MySpace password. It was actually an interesting, Eagle Eye–esque tale.

clever and insightful article on U2, a great and influential band. I must correct the statement, made in the third paragraph, that no rock band has approached their “upward 33- year career trajectory.” Take a look at pages 34 and 35 of your issue, editors. Rush have been together for 41 years. Okay, 35 if you want to start when neil Peart joined the band.

be rock-star cool, I respect
U2’s position as one of the most influential rock bands ever, and think they have about a dozen great songs. however, I was sickened by your propaganda of them as “the last great rock stars of their kind” and their “unrivaled,” “charmed” career. Kids who weren’t around 20 years ago might actually believe that. But U2 are JV compared to a band like the Rolling Stones. They truly have an unrivaled career and are still around, probably making more money than U2...and not just because of their inflated ticket prices.

David Kushner wrote: “ Sometimes, she’d chum around with the other self-described ‘scene kids’—young punks who trolled around Sunset Boulevard in tattoos, tight black pants, and piercings.” Scene kids never were, are not, and never will be punk.

Clarifications A reference to the latest Motörhead album, Motörizer (Steamhammer/ SPV), was inadvertently cut from the April spin Interview.... In the May issue, a few album reviews were erroneously printed twice and some others were cut. The deleted reviews appear in this issue....In a review of the brakesbrakesbrakes’ album Touchdown (May), we incorrectly credited the song “Ancient Mysteries” to the band; it was written by charles Douglas.

Thank you over and over for the interview with lemmy
[The spin Interview, April]. Painting a thrash-metal hero as an englishman with a huge vocabulary pretty much justifies his status as the coolest old man on the planet. Sex. Drugs. Balls. he’s all we need.
