Their band is still brand-new, but Street Sweeper Social Club guitarist Tom Morello and rapper Boots Riley (who opened the Nine Inch Nails/Jane’s Addiction tour) have already faced some extreme audiences. “Our first gig was for a bunch of 11-year-olds at the School of Rock in L.A.,” says Morello, “and our second was in front of the inmates at Sing Sing prison.” Adds Riley proudly, “We killed them all.” In a good way, we think.
